Construction underway on the Eastern Cape's new Mega Bridge

Sanral's flagship infrastructure project in the province is the Msikaba Bridge, which forms part of the N2 Wild Coast Road Project that connects four provinces, the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Kwazulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.



From the Gonubie Interchange at East London to near Port Edward, and on to the Mtamvuna River on the KwaZulu-Natal border, the route extends for 410 kilometers.


Once completed government expects the the bridge will encourage economic activity, community developement, service delivery and job creation.




“The project will continue to create thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities in line with the new Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan,” Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula said.
